Aska's clothing and accessories reflect our passion for textiles - their rich colors, diverse textures and patterns, and display of distinctive techniques that reveal a place of origin and history. We offer one of a kind creations made from kimono, obi, hemp, batik, ikat, cashmere, and silk yarn.

The name Aska transpires from the fusion of East Asian textiles with Western designs. Aska, the ancient capital of Japan, marks the Eastern end of the Silk Road, the only passage through which the Far East and Europe could share ideas and goods for thousands of years.

Aska has been in business over 10 years. It started in 1990 where it became a member of the Artifactory in downtown Palo Alto, California. Years later it found a new home at the Allied Arts Guild complex in Menlo Park, California, where it operated until the complex closed January, 2002 for renovation.

In October 2003, Aska is opening its door again! Please come and visit us.
